The biggest competition of the year starts in Iceland on Monday, Reykjavíkurmeistaramót (Reykjavik Championship). As we all know Covid-19 caused the cancellation of Landsmót 2020 – but since Iceland has recovered quite well from this pandemic horse riding competition have been back on track since middle of May.
Horse riding club Fákur decided to move their Reykjavíkurmeistaramót to the last week in June, beginning of July and now the registrations for this competition are 890!
We are expecting to see the best competition horses in Iceland, Landsmót winners, reigning Icelandic Champions and way more exciting horses – very experienced and new ones!
This year a we are also introducing a groundbreaking platform for the Icelandic horse, that is www.alendis.tv. On there you can find the livestream for all of Reykjavíkurmeistaramót and afterwards all of it will be available on the Alendis TV VOD system. That means that anytime, anyday you can watch the competition, even though you are working while it’s happening or if you miss out on anything. We think this is a great resource for the Icelandic horse and will be valuable when time comes.
