Both riders and the organizers of the World championships for Icelandic horses in Herning are very satisfied after an intense week at the WC2015. It is the best WC ever and a very well-organized sporting event, says the international event manager.

Sunday night, tired and happy riders from 15 Nations, and volunteers from all over Europe, were able to wrap-up and return to their homes after a whole week at the World championships for Icelandic horses in Herning.

-It has been the best WC ever, says the international event manager, Marko Mazeland, FEIF. In his farewell speech, he praised the well-organized championship, the good conditions at Landskuepladsen in Herning, and the great performances by the riders, which among others resulted in a new World Record in Pace Race 250 meters.

On Saturday and Sunday, 10.000 people watched the finals, and the grand stands were almost full.

Denmark won the most medals. All in all, the host nation was able to take home 13 medals – 3 times gold, 5 times silver, and 5 times bronze. On top of that, the Danish rider from Skjern, Søren Madsen riding Hárekur, set a World Record in Pace Race 250 meters.
